Working collaboratively as part of student support services, we address the whole child—ensuring the child’s academic, social, emotional and personal needs are met.
We encourage students to utilize our services, which vary based on the needs of the children served.
During the Primary School
years, counselors provide opportunities for students, through individual and group counseling as well as classroom support lessons, to form solid foundations for social, emotional and academic well-being. The Personal/Social Education (PSE) component of the IB Primary Years Program
curriculum provides the models, processes, and vocabulary for handling social and emotional issues, as well as for ensuring health and well-being for every student. Positive attitudes, critical thinking skills, and healthy behaviors help the balanced learner go forward with confidence and resilience at the conclusion of the Primary Years Program.
During the Middle School
years, the counseling program provides opportunities, education and support for positive self-discovery. Through a comprehensive developmental counseling program, the counselor addresses the social, emotional and academic needs for the students.
The counselor is an advocate for the student, believing that students will grow to be the most they can be. The counselor works collaboratively with parents, teachers, administrators and outside resources to provide each middle 五福彩821ccapp student with the necessary tools for successful growth and development through open communication, patience, understanding and, above all, caring.
The Upper School
counselor works with students in grades 9 through 12, advocating for the student and working with each student on their academic, social and emotional needs. Counselors emphasize developing a relationship with each student and enabling open communication between students, teachers, parents.
